HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY (HRT)
A medical treatment used to balance or replace hormones in the body when their levels drop, usually due to agin or medical conditions. It's most commonly used for women experiencing menopause to alleviate symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and bone loss by replacing estrogen and progesterone. HRT can also be used for men to address low testosterone levels (andropause) and in transgender individuals as part of gender-affirming care.
